I have been elevating my videography and photography skills with NEXTLEVEL Aerial. A good portion of my projects are airshow videos, but I also direct, shoot and edit videography and still photography shoots for commercial clients with NEXTLEVEL Creative.
Most of my airshow videos are for, what I consider to be, airshow purists. No additional music or sound effects. The only music used is from the demo teams and/or choreographed performances from the airshow announcers. Otherwise, just the engine noise, cockpit sounds, ambient sounds and sometimes cockpit voice as well. Use of multiple synced camera angles help to achieve unique and interesting perspectives of some of incredible pilots, aircraft and performances.
I have had my share of ups and downs (pun intended) while working with full sized helicopters shooting gyro stabilized HD (high definition) video and high resolution stills to my small lightweight remotely controlled indoor camera platform.
